Dateline 09.07.2009 Parapanda Folk is an annual music festival held in July in Illora, second city of Granada province, and it has gained quite a following amongst performers and music lovers alike. The 2008 event showed the global appeal with the performances by Ferrer Son Music of Cuba and they return to perform this year along with a list of artists from all over Spain and Europe. Originally based on roots in folk and flamenco music, Parapanda Folk expanded some years ago to include performers of other kinds of music and performances, which take place over 5 days in the grounds of the one of the schools in Illora, Granada used for all local fiestas, are completely free of charge to visitors. You will not go thirsty no matter how long you stay (performances often go on until early morning) as bars are provided close to the performance area by local bar and restaurant owners.
