Andalucia is situated at the southernmost part of Spain and therefore its coastline is surrounded by beautiful and long beaches, from Costa de la Luz, Costa del Sol, Costa Tropical to Costa Almeria, more than 800 km of coastline.
Costa de la Luz encompasses the provinces of Huelva, Sevilla, and Cadiz and lies along the Atlantic shore. It is the best spot for surfing and other water activities in Southern Spain.
Costa del Sol is notably the most popular amongst the tourists, the water from the Mediterranean sea gives warm and calm water to its beaches. There are also numerous bars surrounding the long sandy beaches of Costa del Sol.
Costa Tropical enjoys an almost tropical weather all year through. The Mediterranean sea offers warm and calm water, the breeze from the Sierra Nevada mountains and North Africa gives the area a balanced and lovely temperature. If you want to avoid the more touristy crowd then you should head to Costa Tropical instead. Not only does it offer beaches but the white washed villages of Salobrena and other historical landmarks of Almunecar and Motril are worth visiting.
Head to Costa Almeria if you prefer to be more isolated and if you want to see unspoilt coasts and beaches. It is sparsely populated and there are a few villages, it would be more suitable destination for those who love adventure and independent travelling. |
